Regulated Crypto 0→1 Build: from strategy to go-live readiness

I own the end-to-end 0→1 build of a regulated crypto trading product inside a multi-vertical estate representing £170M+ annual turnover across 3 native apps and web. Scope spans product strategy, vendor selection, integration sequencing, compliance constraints, and launch governance.

Execution focuses on third-party integrations for KYC, wallets, payments, and quotes, with risk-calibrated onboarding flows for CDD and EDD. I drive roadmap, stakeholder alignment, and go-live readiness to ensure the platform can launch safely in FCA/GC-regulated environments.

Outcomes

0→1 ownership: led a brand-new regulated crypto platform from discovery through go-live readiness

Integration depth: orchestrated 4 core third-party capability layers (KYC, wallets, payments, quotes)

Reflection

What I want to take from this project to new projects

Regulatory collaboration early → bringing compliance into discovery prevented expensive late-stage rewrites.

Vendor integration contracts → explicit field definitions and edge-case libraries accelerated implementation quality.

Risk-based rollout planning → staged release controls reduced launch risk while preserving delivery pace.

What I want to improve on

Earlier API sandbox validation → validating provider payloads earlier would have shortened integration cycles.

Shared technical artefacts → tighter reusable integration playbooks would reduce repeat effort across verticals.

Even stronger instrumentation design → deeper event planning pre-build would improve first-iteration decision speed.
